Breakfast at Tiffany’s on the stage (yet again)

Comments Off on Breakfast at Tiffany’s on the stage (yet again) 02 March 2013

bat bwaySo far we have the original novella by Truman Capote (1958), the film with Audrey Hepburn (1961), a musical (1966), and a West End production (2009). Opening next month on Broadway is yet another incarnation of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, this time starring Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones fame.

Keira still shadowing Audrey

2 Comments 19 May 2011

I just happened to hear about this by accident, but apparently Keira Knightley has been performing in a West End production of The Children’s Hour – taking on Audrey Hepburn’s old role of Karen Wright. The show opened around the end of January and I’m not sure how much longer it will be around, but Keira has been getting mixed reviews. Mainly upbeat, though the Daily Mail says there’s still room for improvement.

You may remember that Keira was in serious talks to star in a film remake of My Fair Lady before it fell through, and that the remake is still in development. This is twice now that Keira has wanted to recreate an Audrey Hepburn film role, and her first time actually doing it. Any thoughts on her choices in this regard?

Breakfast at Tiffany’s: The Play (again)

6 Comments 06 October 2009

I blame this on being out of the country and away from computers when the story was confirmed, but have you all heard about the stage production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s now on in London? It previewed at the end of September and is now running at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until the end of January 2010. Interesting…

Does anyone have any inclination to see it?

Being Audrey, in more than one way

1 Comment 25 February 2009

Hello all. Thanks for being so patient as I fell off the face of the Earth (yet again). Without going into too much detail, the economic crisis has mucked up my life and I’m afraid I must spend the majority of my time trying to make ends meet until things improve. So I’m sorry for the lack of updates, but thank you for being loyal and hovering about, waiting patiently for more news.

Just now I received a letter from a lady named Michelle, and she has some interesting information that New York Audrey fans will love to hear, I’m sure. I’ll just copy and paste Michelle’s words, since they say everything that needs to be said so well:

Being Audrey is the story of Claire Stark, the new York woman who has it all: a beautiful life, marital and social bliss, and a view of Tiffany’s from her Fifth Avenue apartment. When calamity strikes and her fairytale world threatens to collapse, Claire seeks refuge in her imagination, where she embarks on a hilarious, romantic adventure inspired by the films of her heroine, Audrey Hepburn.

Breakfast – Dinner at Tiffany’s

1 Comment 10 January 2007

While it’s not technically dinner at Tiffany’s, from February 26 to March 25, you can have a swank dinner while watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s at Foreign Cinema in San Franciso. Foreign Cinema is a pretty well-known (and well-regarded) restaurant in San Francisco, and I’ve always wanted to give them a try. Now I have the perfect excuse. 😉 If you’re interested in trying this yourself and will be in the Bay area during this time, please note that you must make reservations! You can do so on the website, or by calling (415) 648-7600 after 11 am. It looks like it’ll be loads of fun. I only hope I can keep from crying into my dinner!
