A lot of great movie memorabilia is going up for sale soon, among which is Audrey's famous black and white dress from the Ascot races in My Fair Lady. Move yer bloomin' arse and read the story! :)
Lady Hanson, Lord James Hanson's wife, dies posted March 5th. Audrey and James Hanson were once engaged, but ended up parting on amicable terms. James later married an American, Geraldine, and had been married to her for over 40 years. Lady Geraldine Hanson became very ill in the past few months and passed away the other day. You can see her obituary here.
Authentic items Audrey owned and used for sale? posted March 5th. I was searching through Yahoo for Audrey products to see if anything new was out and stumbled across this page. I don't know how legit it is, but they do offer certificates of authenticity. Though I wonder if Sean and Luca know about this . . .
Audrey memorabilia to be auctioned in Los Angeles posted March 29th. After seeing it myself, Audrey's famous black and white dress from the Ascot races scene in My Fair Lady is up for sale to the highest bidder. You can see more information here. Also for sale are her opera gloves from the Ball, a beautiful Unforgiven costume sketch (with fabric swatches), a very precious signed costume sketch for the Ascot dress, "The Rain In Spain" dress sketch, and a costume sketch for Mrs. Higgins. There are two more Cecil Beaton sketches up for auction for Ascot extras, which you can see here, along with everything else Kendal and I saw today that's going to be up for sale.
Audrey memorabilia sold in L.A. posted April 1st. Yesterday, March 31st, was the big movie memorabilia auction. Our own board member/moderator Kendal was at the auction in person to watch a bit of Audrey history being made (and met the new owner of the Ascot dress!), while I just watched the goings-on through eBay. You can read all about it here.

Audrey makes Hershey's Kisses top 10 kiss list posted April 29th. To celebrate the arrival of the new caramel-filled Hershey's Kiss, Hershey's made a Top Ten Kisses In Film list. Audrey came in at number four, but not for the famous Breakfast at Tiffany's kiss we were all expecting. What made #4 was really -- are you ready? -- her kiss with Humphrey Bogart in Sabrina. In the words of Holly Golightly, "Isn't that the weirdest?" Well, for more details, go here.

Traveling Audrey exhibit hits Japan. The traveling exhibit will be traveling to Japan in May of 2004 (probably the very beginning of the month around Audrey's birthday, from what I've heard), and will stay there through 2006. It will travel throughout Japan, and it's supposedly to return to the States and end its run here on the West Coast in late 2006, if everything goes according to plan.

Rare German Audrey stamps stolen posted December 28th. A series of Audrey stamps were supposed to be released in Germany a year or so ago, but at the last minute the rights to use her image were yanked. All but one set were destroyed, and that last set has "gone missing." For the full details of the story and to see just how valuable these stamps are, click here for the story.
