je ne sais quoi

... seems to describe Audrey quite well. In French, it literally means "I do not know what," and is usually used to describe a certain indefinable something that a person has. When people talk about Audrey Hepburn, certain words almost always come up, like class and style. But she also had this magnetic charm, this indefinable thing, which drew people to her, made them want to be close to her and protect her. It was more than her sweetness and vulnerability, more than her unusual looks an innate good breeding. It was this je ne sais quoi, this certain something that people either have or don't have. And Audrey Hepburn had it in spades.

This is also what makes her so difficult to recreate. Many people have tried, but none seem to be able to match that magic that Audrey carried in every bone in her body. Every person is unique, like their fingerprints, but Audrey has definitely proved that something so unique just can't be remade. This is both good and bad, because to have a world of exact Audrey clones running around would ruin the effect, the pure magic that was her. But it's also sad to realize that out of the 6 billion (and growing) people on the planet, there was only – and will only over be – one Audrey Hepburn.

They say that imitation is the most sincere type of flattery, but I say in Audrey's case that remembrance is best.
