Audrey Hepurn en français

Comments Off on Audrey Hepurn en français 19 March 2007

A new video clip on You Tube has an interview of Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer arriving in France (possibly at Orly?) and having a short interview with a woman. It’s a bit noisy and distracting in here right now so I can’t concentrate with my limited French, but I did hear that they flew in from Amsterdam, that Audrey had a new contract with Paramount studios, and that the interviewer comments on Mr. Famous’s hair, since Mel was playing with it throughout. If anyone has better French (and a quieter domain) than me, please feel free to post a better translation in the comments section!

Oh, and your speakers aren’t broken. The sound only comes in at the beginning of the interview, after the fellow with the Hasselblad camera snaps a picture, and the sound is very soft.

Edit: The user who originally posted this video has had their account suspended, so I am now hosting the video myself.

book review of Audrey Hepburn: The Paramount Years

Thanks to chipmunkalvyne from The Audrey Hepburn Circle for pointing out that there’s a videotaped review of Audrey Hepburn: The Paramount Years up on You Tube. The book won’t be out in the US until the end of this month (March 29, to be exact), so it’s exciting to get an Audrey fan’s perspective on the book while also getting a sneak peek at all the pictures. Don’t worry, there’s enough of the book left unseen to make your first go-round with your own copy as exciting as ever.

The Children’s Hour

Comments Off on The Children’s Hour 19 January 2007

There’s a new review up on The Fabulous Audrey Hepburn for The Children’s Hour, for those of you who need or like reviews. And with all the other reviews on the site, if you have seen the film or read the book, please feel free to leave your own review! I know people like hearing from other fans as to what they like and don’t like, and you really do help out. Go here for the review.

Edit: The day after I wrote this review, another one comes from AfterEllen.com! The review is a very good one, written by and for people who deal in real life with what Karen and Martha went through in The Children’s Hour. While the review does contain a couple of smaller spoilers, I would definitely recommend reading it, and I think it says a lot for the film when a reader says that it’s still one of the best gay/lesbian films around.
